History
In the early 1970's the City of Jamestown's recreation department started a flag football league known as Jamestown Area Flag Football.  In 1976 the JAFF joined the United States Flag Football Association.  After the 1988 season the JAFF folded due to several complications and player-official altercations.

In 1989 Bob Whitney formed a four team league that held their games at the Witch Kitch Inn located in Sinclairville.  Bob named the league the Southern Tier Flag Football League.  In the early 1990's the league grew in size and had to find a new home which lead to the Gerry Rodeo Grounds.  Whitney was a successful league president for 25 years.

In 2014 Whitney handed the league over to Brad Barmore.  The league still holds roots at the Rodeo Grounds in Gerry, New York.
